Last year we were asked to be a part of a really special shoot at our favorite venue, Beckendorff Farms. This cake we created ended up serving as inspiration for a handful of 2017 and 2018 couples who love buttercream, but love the look of our paper-thin, deckled edges of fondant ruffles. We are really proud of our technique where the fondant is applied right to the buttercream without the need for a full layer. No offense, fondant. We just prefer buttercream and think that this style offers the best of both worlds.
